If you read my previous post about how to play with fashion and how to use clothes and outfits to express yourself, you got to know something very personal about me: I like colors. I also wear a lot of black, but I always spice it up with a colorful piece, it can be a bag, a pair of shoes , a necklace or statement earrings.

I do the same when "creating" my own make up. I like to wear unexpecting colors and play with bright lipsticks and eyeshadows and even mascaras.

The picture above shows you pretty much the way I do it.

Lets talk a bit about hair and make up in this post, just because I love this topic! And we all need to do what makes us happy, right? As my close friend Nancy would say in almost every circumstance: "sure, why not?"

Now, first of all, I am here to remind you that you ladies can do and wear whatever you want to and what makes you feel comfortable. My intention is to share with you what works for me based on my experience and also to give you some options or some material to think about.

And talking about options, I am a strong believer that to change your make up and hair style once in a while makes you more interesting and vibrant and put you in a good mood.

It is nice to surprise people sometimes and also to offer them something to talk about. If you wear always the same make up and you haven't changed your hair cut in years...it sounds like a boring deja' vu to me. Excuse moi!!

Starting from the basic canvas, I don't wear foundation. I never did. But not because I was gifted with a porcelain type of skin. On the contrary, my skin is still quite oily, I suffered from acne when I was younger, and dealt with acne scars and large pores for a long time. I simply did not want to use people to see me wearing foundation. I prefer for people getting used to my regular skin tone and imperfections. I also like the idea of taking good care of my skin. Will post about skin care very soon.

But this is just me. There are so many foundation options out there and some of them are so light that you can barely see them. You ladies can do your own web researches and I am sure you can find the right foundation for you. You might just opt for a tinted cream at the end of the day, and this will look awesome on you.

However, I like the idea to light some parts of my face . And I use concealer under my eyes.

I recently discovered this seriously good highlighting stick from Thrive Causemetics. It really works magic on me! You should check their website.

It is very affordable. It comes in different shades. You can put a little bit on your brow bone, on the inner corners of your eyes, on the lids and waterline. It comes very useful all the times, but especially after a sleep deprived night. Give it a try. You gonna thank me later. Or not..! But I had to share with you...

What about smokey eyes? Anyone? Well, I am a forever rock and roll chick and I still enjoy going to concerts quite a lot. Will talk about hobbies another time. What I am trying to say though, we all need an edgy smokey eyes look once in a while. If you think this look is "too much' for you, don't worry about a thing, I might have a great solution for you.

Instead of using a black eyeliner and a black eye pencil, switch both of them to a brown color. You would be surprised on how all the smokey eye effect takes it on a different level, and how much more classy and sophisticated it gets. If your eyes are blue or green you can even try to replace black with a teal or another color from the blue family . Amazing!

I still think that a bright color lipstick solves all the problems though! But it is getting hard to wear even a pastel lipstick at the moment , since we need to wear masks most of the times. You know, to protect us and the other people against the mean COVID-19.

So for now ladies, you might just want to color your nails and your hair.

Like with foundation, I am not a great fan of the French manicure or French pedicure. But again, ladies, if this is your style, just do it and enjoy it. To me, it reminds me of "another era" and it does not make me feel happy nor exiting . I prefer to use red, purple and even shocking pink and orange on my nails. But I also like to play it classy and lady-like sometimes.

My friend Ginny gave me this pearlized nail polish as a gift. See picture above, please. I am addicted. It looks so chic and so comfortable at the same time. I just love it!! Thanks Ginny. She is always spoiling me by the way.

Your hair should look healthy, it does not really matter which color you are wearing it or which length. Some people say that long hair aged you. I am not really sure. It depends more on your style and even on your height. If you are a gorgeous tall woman, for example, honestly, I would go with long hair, you might want to create long layers for a more "easy breezy effect", but that's it. I am not really tall, I am actually quite short, but lets call me "petite" to make it sound more sexy . If I wear very long hair, my entire figure will disappear. Shoulder length hair or just below the shoulder hair would fit me more.

Once you find your personal hair dresser everything gets easier though.

The hairdresser where I go is very much like me. She likes to experiment, she likes to change and try , she likes to play, but she is also very chic and classy. A perfect combination for me.

I guess it is more important to find the right hairdresser than the right partner. Or..if I could get both...welll. ..it would be perfect. For now I found the right hair stylist.

Thank you all for "reading" me and following me. Till next time babes. Again, comments are more than welcome. And don't be shy.
