And it is a Covid-19 sneaker world...

I have never been that kind of woman to dream about that princess -like wedding with my Mr. Right.
It took me almost half of a century to announce that one day I would really love to get married. And it has happened very recently.
Few weeks ago I found myself saving pins from Pinterest and filing them under a virtual mood board that I called "Wedding outfits ideas".
Next thing I know, I found myself showing some bridal dresses to my closest friend.
I am lucky, my friends are as crazy as I am ( in some cases even crazier) , and here she is, one of my best friend, encouraging me to pick this dress instead of the other one and to match it with those white butter velvety shoes and to wear that light veil under that perfect flower head band. Because she knows my style is pretty much gipsy-boho.
By the way, thanks Vanessa to put up with all my non-sense crap on a regular basis. I really love you.
Did something change in my love life? Absolutely not. I am still single. I am barely dating, only when I am in the mood, and clearly not enough to meet somebody to plan to get married to.
I am not focusing on finding my future husband, I actually do not care so much, I could even just marry a (good looking) stranger, just for one day, and then just leave him.
The reason why I want to get married one day in the near future (possibly!) is not about love unfortunately. It is simply driven by my "style-lust", let's just call it this way for the moment.
My intention is to wear this amazing lace bohemian wedding dress and pair it..with a pair of SNEAKERS , probably my washed -out cream Chuck Taylor..or another pair of cool high top sneakers.

Yes, I am that type of gal who wears super sporty sneakers with a tutu skirt .
I have been in the sneakers business for whole my life so I guess this is where this LOVE comes from.
This is LOVE to me. A pair of sneakers that you can dress up and down.

We all know that sneakers have been having their "momentum" in the past two years.
In my opinion, they are here to stay.
Like the COVID-19 virus which is apparently also here to stay .
And the two actually go hands in hands in a bittersweet kind of way.
We are spending more time at home and we want to be comfortable. But at the same time we are tired of wearing slippers and socks inside our houses. So here you go, let's grab our fav. pairs of sporty kicks.
We have been rediscovering the outdoors in these past few months because they seem to be more "virus-free" than the indoors, therefore we need a good pair of sneakers to accompany us through nature hiking paths and other fresh air activities.
We go out less often. And when we go out , we do not go clubbing anymore or to a bar fancy standing while sipping that flavored rose' wine . No need to show off our expensive high heeled boots or pumps. If we have to sit on a restaurant table while social distancing we do not need to be wearing those croc embossed leather super high wedges.
And let's be completely honest. The less we wear high heels, the harder it is to get used to them again and to feel uncomfortable.
I am sure high heels will come back as soon as we find a vaccine, but combat , platform and lug soles boots are a trendy young vibrant alterative to the sneakers at the moment.
Bottom line, I would encourage you to create your "second weave Corona spread " outfits around your Doc Martens and your "Retro Runners".

Because you do not need to give up on style or trends or good sophisticated tastes. Absolutely not!
You can wear your last season sneakers and invest in a new or few new pairs that are more update and match to the most recent ready to wear trends.
Paying attention to the "must have" shades is a key and some of the clothes trends in terms of colors can navigate you through this rainbow jungle and help you to identify the right sneakers. Even if there is no right or wrong in the fashion world .
The below ones are only mood inspirations.

As already briefly mentioned, I can see a return of this "retro jogger" silhouette. I really like it because it brings me back to this "nostalgia" times.

Chunky soles and tools are still in but they got revisited a bit and their shapes are less heavy looking, more refined and a hint more sophisticated.
I think these touches of pink in its pastel and antique versions are adorable.
Soft earth tones ( are we try to connect more with our sick planet???) are also having a moment.
Sometimes they are interrupted by an unexpected touch of gold, green or grey. Tres chic!

For this season my favorite color's trends are probably all those burgundy and biking reds and burnt oranges or brick oranges together with mustard tones , we have seen a lot on the many virtual runways. And all the shades in between. Bright purples and soft purples included.

If you feel still a bit "conservative" colors wise, I do not need to tell you that you have plenty of other more classic options out there.

Some brands are creating some "hybrids" that combine a sneaker midsole and bottom with a more dressy and traditional upper. Still using innovative sporty materials. The alternatives are so many out there and they go well with every kind of personality, style , taste, and mood.

At the end of the day it is all about comfort though.
And here below picture it's me playing with the satin laces of my sneaker ballet or ballerina sneaker...which both names sound so cool to me.

And clearly I am in love with this baby soft pink shade!
And just a reminder below on how to wear sneakers at every age and have fun while doing it.
